Garden PartyUpClose

OnSaturday 16 July, we're hosting our first ever garden party in one of the City of London's most secluded spots, Postman's Park, just a stone's throw from St Paul's Cathedral. The party is being held to raise funds for our next production, The Magic Flute, and we will have the production's director  Valentina Ceschi (OperaUpClose's Elixir of LoveDido & Aeneas), and librettist Glyn Maxwell (ROH's The Firework Maker's Daughter) and other members of the cast and team to talk about the production.

Ourguests will be entertained by performances from tenor Anthony Flaum (Scottish Opera and English National Opera soloist), soprano Elinor Jane Moran (SONY BMG soloist, Garsington Opera Award) and pianist Paul McKenzie (Cadogan Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, St David's Hall, the Council of Europe and St Martin-in-the-Fields).

And we can announce that the afternoon's delicious fare will be provided by our friends at nibs etc.The menu is:

nibs etc. was founded by Chloë Stewart out of a passion for minimising kitchen waste as much as possible, by upcycling kitchen leftovers and creating no waste recipes.  A passion that has led to a mission to encourage people to think differently about their food 'waste' through the preparation of delicious foods. One third of all food produced, is wasted; it doesn’t meet supermarket specifications, it spoils, or is seen as waste.  All reasons we are capable of overcoming to fight food waste, because most of it is in fact, edible. nibs etc. caters beautiful and innovative food, where nothing is wasted, and everything is appreciated. We are very pleased to be working with them at OperaUpClose. See more mouth-watering food bynibs etc. on Facebook, and Instagram.

The party will be from 2 pm til 5 pm, the dress code is Summer Smart  and you may bring as many guests as you'd like (children are very welcome!) To book your tickets email me at olivia@operaupclose.com or call me on 0207 600 6439.  We are asking for a suggested donation of £45 to reserve your place, covering the costs of the party and raising much needed funds for The Magic Flute

We hope to see you there,

Olivia
