Puccini’s classic brought roaring into the 21st Century in a reimagined chamber orchestration and English libretto by writer Hannah Kumari (“Deceptively subversive” The Stage) and composer Vahan Salorian (“...truly genre breaking” Backtrack). Developed through artist-led workshops in Autumn 2024, this Schicchi will be scored for a cast of highly skilled actor instrumentalists and opera singers, putting all performers at the very heart of the storytelling.
The production will tour to mid-scale spaces in early 2026 alongside with a newly commissioned spoken word comic prologue commissioned in partnership with ArtfulScribe.

A radical new take on the enduringly fascinating and disturbing opera by Richard Strauss, featuring the famous ‘Dance of the Seven Veils’ and touring to nightclubs and cabaret spaces in early 2027.
Never less than controversial, the play was seen as blasphemous and banned in the UK until 1931, whilst Strauss’ opera scandalised and thrilled in equal measure at its premiere in 1905.
Exploring the wild hedonism of Oscar Wilde’s original text, a new English libretto will expose themes of gender identity and ableism. With a new chamber orchestration mixing acoustic and electronic sound, this Salome aims to bring the audience right to the centre of the tragedy and be as heady and challenging today as the original was for audiences of the time.
