Seeking Choirs in Hull to participate in our recording of ‘last bit of the moon’

We are seeking choirs to join us in a recording of 'The Last Bit Of The Moon' by Composer Micheal Betteridge which is a prologue and companion piece to our new touring production of Vaughan Williams' opera Riders To The Sea. 

We are collaborating with choirs nationally to record parts of the chorus which will be included in our final production and tour in 2025. The production will also be coming to Hull Truck February 2025. We are looking for male and female singers with low voices (tenor, bass, baritone) to join us for a group rehearsal and recording session in the autumn.

Dates you would need available: 

  • Sunday 8th September [10:30am-2:30pm] - rehearsal at Hymers College, Hymers Avenue, Hull, HU3 1LW

  • Sunday 6th October [10:30am-2pm] - rehearsal and recording at Hymers College, Hymers Avenue, Hull, HU3 1LW

Shadows – Chorus comprising low voices - men who are ghosts of the men before 'man', the fathers, the sons, the relatives of Bartley, their doubts.

Elements – Chorus comprising low voices – though not limited to – who voice the elements that are drawn out of 'man's journey / exploration. they steer and guide his decisions. sea, tide, wind, cliff, sand, moon, labour, capital, trade.

Ensemble – ‘The Sea’ or ‘The Tide,’ the Shadows & Elements chorus combined.
